Probably will be a while. Pretty light on the details and heavy on the Photoshop. No mention of actual screen size or tech specs. Considering the T39 firmware was never completely sorted out, a new T-series with touch gestures sounds like a scary proposition despite RAmos already trying it with the (here and gone before you blinked) V80.

Thumbs down

Oh no, now they're copying the Samsung P2

Have to laugh at the text... Says something like "the Teclast T series is know for its high quality"

OMG the interface IS a direct copy of the P2! And I do know what I'm talking about, I have a P2 afterall. Teclast = fail.

Highly doubtful the GUI will look much like the renders and even if the main screen does look similar to the P2, all the sub-menus will be closer to Rockchip than Samsung.

Besides the wishful thinking for bug-free firmware & performance, I just hope there's something else that really makes this a "T" player as opposed to all the other Rockchip+Wolfson players in Teclast's lineup...better Wolfson? 8 or 16GB? Something? Anything?

Really goes to show how horrible the firmware team is. Copying a GUI shouldn't be that hard

At least change the ugly font!

From imp3.net:

More details on the T50

As predicted: Rockchip + Wolfson 8987. Supposedly up to 8GB.

Not so expected: The lead in the article mentions users may feel some disappointment as the T series should be Teclast's flagship player, not just another RK27xx with a few bells & whistles. imp3 then invokes Oppo's S11 as why this actually may not be so bad: spend some time actually developing the firmware and the user experience becomes more rewarding even in the absence of high-end components.

Wow, someone gets it...good job, imp3.net!

The T50 is now on Teclast's main product pages, albeit still in rendered form...no actual photos yet. Still, clicking through the tabs, you get the full product spiel as well as the full specs of the player:

Looks like the T50 is going to go head to head with the M30 on price: 4GB for 599 RMB:

Official Teclast Price List

Whether they're worth it or not, Oppo's players are pretty much alone now in the "premium" player niche.
