| Unofficially Dead (or however you spell unofficially) Well after viewing posts on T39 in the Teclast forums, it appears that the T39 truly did die in its sleep. Unfortunately I accidently closed the tabs to some posts about this (firefox was set to not ask to close if multiple tabs open and I'm a lazy guy so i didn't look for them again after) so you can just check out the forums yourself.
Now that I doubt there will be new firmware released, if there are any skilled coders out there.....
(I mean, I'd do it myself but I'm still only a beginner in coding lol)

| After only one year on the market? All support dropped?
But there are a number of European companies that have only just started reselling the T39
If this is the way they treat customers, why would anyone buy Teclast again? |

| I'm thinking support for T39 has imploded because of the T50, seems like Teclast only cares about its newest dap. Whatever has a chance of bringing in more money gets the spotlight. The ONLY light sounds more accurate. And that they only started re selling to get rid of whatevers left, just milking T39 dry.
I am mad at Teclast for seemingly dropping support. Hopeful I'm wrong in saying that though. My T39 has served me well, but it did teach me a lesson. If you like movies, don't go touch screen, lol.

| T39 I disagree,
I can tell you from experience. It is the customer that only wants to buy the newest DAP. Right now, the overseas buyers can place an order to have 1000 16GB T39s built if they desire to do so. Why don't they order new T39s or T29s? Because the customer will not buy them. As far as support for the T39 goes, when they get the firmware where they want it, they leave it alone. I think Teclast is still releasing firmware for the C260 / C280 and this is an old player now. On the other hand, the T29 stopped at version 1.07. If it is not broken, why fix it?
As an official reseller, I can tell you that I have received plenty of support from them. When I send players to China to be repaired, they have been repaired.
If you buy a player from an unofficial seller outside of your market, this could be a different story. These sellers do not receive the same level of support and therefore refuse to replace the customers player.
Keep in mind that the internal China market is still the main market for the T39 and the overseas market is tiny in comparison.
Peace,

That doesn't mean it provides a polished and bug free experience, or provides even basic functionality available on other players costing a fraction of the price.
Sure v1.29 doesn't crash but there is so much more they could do with the firmware to keep existing owners happy and encourage them to buy Teclast again.
This short-term "take the money and run" attitude does nothing for brand loyalty. |

| Teclast Take the money and run?!
So Teclast are a bunch of theives because they don't write better firmware for you?
You think that this makes the company a bunch of criminals?
Please explain......

| Calm down... I'm just saying that if you going to launch products with rough firmware, it's fair for customers to expect regular updates to get at least the basic feature-set working to a high standard.
Is it too much to ask that the advertised radio scan feature actually store valid frequencies? Or the "Stereo" indicator not be a static image and actually reflect when a stereo signal is being received? How about a clock that doesn't lose 1 minute per day? Or a decent default playlist that doesn't randomly jump all over the place? Or decent tag display that doesn't show random characters when a tag is perfectly valid?
And this is just a handful of basic features promised in the manual that either don't work or work poorly...
They don't have to add support for 100 new codecs or games... Although adding new functionality after release does show a desire to keep existing customers happy, and increase the value of their new and installed hardware.
Sadly they see firmware updates as a waste of money, because they don't make any money directly from them. They don't realise the potential return on such investment... Brand loyalty, improved image, positive word of mouth, etc... |
