Crackling problems

The T39 keeps cracking my headphone drivers like crazy. Dose anyone know what I'm talking about/have any suggestions..?

Could this be stopped by changing firmware or returning the one I purchased..?

Also... What dose HEL do?

Hel if i'm not wrong is like volume limiter...usually the volume reaches a maximum of 40 but with hel activated only reaches 28..
About the sound...have you tried different earphones? there are other firmwares in the download section, you should try them too.....

as i know there's no volume limiter in T39 you have to lower bass or normalize your music to -18db

Ok, so basicly then, the equalizer goes to stupid high levels, so just turn it WAY down and crank the volume?

My T39 sends lots of crackles to the headphones when switching on, switching off, and especially switching modes after being connected via USB... Then you get a massive voltage spike that could blow your ear drums

Down to poor design of the electronics

Your problem sounds like a fault with the headphone socket or using too many EQ settings at the same time?

Unhappy Too much drive

Just so we all understand ourselves, the omegaman009 is discussing headphone drivers (an external amplified device) and not a regular set of headphones. Am I wrong about this?

theomegaman009,

I would like to make a suggestion.....

Try running the T39 at very low volume, EQ -> FLAT position with all the effects turned off, whenever using any kind of headphone driver or headphone amp. By the way, The EQ is reversed... down is up, up is down... etc...

Remember there is enough power in this player to drive an external speaker. Turn it very low for external amps.

Most Teclasts don't require too much EQ or effects at all. I always start with them completely flat, then add a little here and there, and this is without a headphone driver. Most players don't sound good unless everything is cranked up and turned on full blast. Teclast is not like this. Start flat and work your way up and down, you will be surprised.

It is also VERY easy to overdrive a Teclast device.... When you do, it starts to cause alot of other havoc....

If you still have a repetitive crack crack crack, this could be down to an impedence mismatch between the T39 and the headphone drivers. Teclast players have a strange impedence. Most external headphone devices do not like the Teclasts. Search for other posts on this topic.
