I have v 1.03 and am pretty happy with it. Seems really stable only complant is skipping during recording.I'm hesitant about upgrading and not being able to go back. Does anyone know if there is a way to back up my existing f/w?

Hey, you can upgrade or downgrade freely on the t39, ive switched between 1.18 and 1.29 quite a few times. as long as you have the .rom and .bin files of the firmware on your computer, you can switch back anytime you like. and i personaly think 1.18 is the most stable with 1.29 in second place. all settings like text colour, etc. will be reset though, but they can be changed back very easily.
