Hello, I have a problem with a loose earphone jack with my T39. How do I open this player safely to fix it?

When I took mine apart I used a thin steak knife and carefully pushed the plastic in and up through the lanyard hole between the headphone and usb jack. Once it got started I slipped the knife down between the plastic and metal casing to work the maetal casing over the jacks as it comes apart. all the components are attached to the plastic side.
