Editing a 3rd time now..... Got everything straightened out.....

1st run (with many problems) includes 1st run button players (old lcd-icon pattern) and early new button players (some teclast early ones). So there are 1st buttons and 2nd buttons.
Most players (at least 95%) and ALL Teclast versions have 2nd buttons, which is why Teclast does not write any firmware for the early 1st buttons. Likewise the overseas firmware team is now writing firmware only for 2nd button players as well. I beleive this is why 1st button firmware has not exceeded version .99.

Why are the firmware for the 1st run T39 so rare? I thought there were two teams working on this. Is it that hard to share the coding between the group? Is it difficult to switch coding so that the buttons match up?

2 Firmware releases
Hi,

Button 1 (LCD Icon edition) firmware is at version 1.25 right now. Button 1 (LCD Icon) firmware is harder to get because it is not publicly available for download on TianJio's (the firmware coders) website. Teclast makes the Button 2 firmware available for the whole world to download.

first time on here, I have a 8gb panel 2 from pushplay right before they went under. so far player works great f/w version 1.03 how can you tell if it's first or second run?

Hi,

This is very simple. If there is a rattle inside the player when you shake it, or if the headphone jack is broken off, then you probably have a first run.

If the player is rock solid and not broken, then you probably have a later one.

I did have a rattle it was apiece of loose sodder once removed no problem, headset jack is solid

When I say rattle, I mean the loose battery issue. I think if you removed that soldier, you are fine now. That is not to say that all 1st run broke, this is not the case. But the defect ratio was horrible in the beginning. Keep in mind that all new ones are well past first run now.
