Uh oh... I am not familiar with a single CPU version. Do you mean the rockchip T39A version? This has been available for a long time now.

As for T59? It is not even in the design stage yet. I am told the T59 is very far away from production. On the other hand, I saw a very thin white player I didn't recognize being assembled in the factory. I recognized T29, C260, C280, C290, T39. This while thin player is something I never seen before, but it could be a player under contract for another company, who knows?

I am working on getting a copy of the newest 1.25 firmware for 1st button players at the moment. I also threw in a nervous request about getting some of us (only a couple of programmers on here) the source code for the firmware on some of these players, so we can edit it ourselves. I know there is no way in hell this is going to happen, but I can honestly tell you that I gave it my best go.

Thanks

Source code would be great. Perhaps if Teclast would allow it it could be shared with the Rockbox people. Rockbox on T39: Wow!

Wink T39r

The T39R version of the T39 is the single chip version we are discussing. The info about the telechips and wolfson is a mistake. At least this is the response I got from them. So T39 = telechips + wolfson, T39R = single chip (rockchip only) The T39R is not the Teclast compatible version. Almost all of the blue screen TianJio players are Rockchip only.

The Teclast C220 is a very interesting player because it is the rockchip version of the T29, AND Teclast bought them.

http://www.teclast.com/zhuanti/c220/

In this one case, Teclast bought both the Wolfson and Rockchip versions of the same model. The advantage of having a C220 over a T29 is the ability to play YouTube videos. Although, I don't see why they can't write new firmware for the T29 to do the same thing.

So the C220 is to the T29, as the T39R is to the T39, if this makes any sense.

Honestly comparing the PA20 to the T39 is pure heresy!!!
I am distributor for both models,so my judgement is unbiased, the 2 aren't even comparable!
It's like comparing a lamboringhini to a bmw.Whole different league.
The PA20 is only a rockchip with a nice interface. Can't even play flv yet.
And there is very little feature except the big screen, and the touchscreen responsiveness is way worse than t39.
There is album art in PA20?NOT
There is playlist in PA20?NOT
There is bookmarks in PA20?NOT
There is 30h playback in PA20?NOT
There is a powerful speaker in PA20 ? NOT
There is 30fps movie in PA20?NOT only 20
Need i continue or i can stop here?I could continue for at least other 20 points. And last thing the sound is not even comparable.

Calm down... Sure I was comparing headline specifications there but this is what most people use to decide what to buy.

I've used a T39 daily for 3 months and I can tell you that most features just don't work correctly, even after 5 new firmware versions over 5 months. The interface is a bad copy of the Cowon D2 and no way does the battery last 30 hours! Personally I wish they would stop trying to add new features (that don't work) and fix some fundamental flaws.

Okay, have it your way... The T39 is like an old Lamborghini... Occasionally brilliant but under-developed and unreliable

If you mean a new Lamborghini, they're owned and designed by Audi so hardly a difference league from BMW then?
