T39 A/V sync

Has anyone noticed that there is a A/V sync problem with the T39 ?

Its seems to have a small (measured around 1/4 of a second) constant delay on the audio compared to the video.

I have found a nasty way to fix it, but my methods are Linux only with specific tools (I split out the video and audio, chop 1/4 of a second from the start of the audio and reconstruct the whole thing). Takes a while to complete, but produces perfect results.
After that, this T39 just cannot be brought out of sync at all.

Anyone find another way to fix this maybe using another Xvid encoder or something ?

I suspect its the whole dual core thing, I think they must have hardware decoding both streams in parallel, which is great, but their player doesn't pay attention to the audio delay field encoded into an AVI.

What settings did you convert with. I've converted the same clip (320x240 22fps, audio: 128kbps) 4 times at different video bit rates, and the two higher bit rates have sync problems, but the other two are fine. The converter I used was TVC.

Thanks for the response, but I'm not sure - one thing I know is that before upgrading the firmware it would fall out of sync more easily than the C260 - not a cosntant lag, but a fast degrading of sync.
You are enconding at 22 fps, I can encode at 25 fps with 580 Kbits/sec video and 240 Kbit/s MP3 and have no degrading sync problems at all.
Upgrade the firmware from .88 to .97 if you haven't yet, you won't regret it.

Its just the constant lag I'm worried about now, which only seems to happen in some DVDs - usually music DVDs, or maybe I just notice it more on those.

So, its fixable and I'm happy with my solution, but I suspect others will notice this too and it maybe something simple to fix it.
