Question on the T39

In reading the specs on this, it says it is flash memory. I can't find any pics that show all of the edges on it, so, I am unable to tell if it takes micoSD memory cards or not. This would be very important to me, as I intend to use it for FLAC playing.

Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.

The INTERNAL memory is FLASH...

As is the NANO/M6/T29/YP-Z5 et al...

Nowhere has it been published that the T39 has a MicroSD expansion Slot.

If using FLAC is important to you, hold out for the 16gb version.

Smile Flac?

I know that this is a question out of subject, but I am in a must to ask for the answer . Here's the question: What is special about FLAC? I could search for the answer on GOOGLE, but I wish that all teclasters' members know about it easily, if you see where I wanna come...

FLAC is a lossless codec. MP3 uses compression, so there is loss of some data. An mp3 is considered a lossy codec. A place I download from considers 192kbps to be the bare minimum for quality on MP3's. A flac is considered to be better than even a 320kbps MP3. The downside is file size. It is very easy to get an albums worth of songs being around 500MB.

Yeah FLAC is considered better and factually is better. However, not many people actually tell the diffrence between a well encoded MP3 or OGG file and a FLAC file 5 times the size...

so... if youre asking if FLAC is good? Yes
Is it worth the extra space? I'd say No

As I said above, about 500MB for a full album of songs.

FLAC is good for archiving of music (esp. CDs).
You can later convert it into a format then beeing state of the art.
For a portable device it is a waste of storage place.
You will never hear a difference between a well encoded lossy format and FLAC on a portable device.

Personally, I prefer a 256 or 320 rip for the most part. Some things are not available to d/l, aside from flac, and I really don't want to get into transcoding.

Conerting a proper FLAC into another format is no trancoding.
