I dont know what you mean by PAL (I know of course what PAL means very well) but this player has nothing to do with it. It has similiar screen as c280 and c260, QVGA 320x240 pixels. Video still need to be converted in order to play on this pmp.

No PAL, no NTSC, just 320x240 30fps AVI/WMV.

If it supports 30 fps, then it just means you only need to use AVIconverter without playing with reverse telecine - fewer convert options as it doesn't have to convert down.
If I am using an NTSC source onto my C260, I use different options at present than a PAL source. This player would simplify things for people who just want it to work without having to think about it.

Mind posting more pics of the GUI VasilijP? From what little I can see in there, the GUI looks like the same horrid one on the T29. It was the GUI that put me off the T29 and made me go for the Meizu M6.

These are only pre-production, full thing should come with new firmware (to some extent ). Generally, I think that firmware on T29, c260, c280 is lacking, and there is no excuse for that. If manufacturer cannot afford adequate firmware, they should at least release specs and SDK, it would be the smartest thing they can do about it. Audio/video playback, recording and other basic features are ok, but there is lot of things that could be done.
I must mention at least non consistent controls, non-responsiveness during playback, unsupported playlists, awkward implementation of graphical interface (each screen in main menu is picture -> no animations, large firmware), usb/mass storage is poorly implemented.
These players are quite good when it comes to HW, but it is like newest PC with Win98 installed. Why to use newest chips, when software does not use their potential?

Lets hope that T39s final firmware will be better than fw of its predecessors.

well if it make you feel better. they have firmware can't handle 16gb, so for the time being it's not going to be out. but I'm not saying that they canceled it completely, who knows what comes out.

I totally agree with what VasilijP said about the GUI & firmware, but has anyone here asked them about how to modify the firmware?

Hi, this appears to be dead end, I found someone offering SDK for telechips and tools, but asked $300 for it, I also doubt that it would be of some use, especially documentation.

Manufacturer do not want to release SDK neither, they either think that someone is going to steal them their 'amazing software' or they does not even realize how bad fw is and how easily it could change.

All you can modify now is pictures in menu, which is ridiculous, because there is lot that could be done in functionality...

Personally, I think that FW is that lacking, that even 1st grade university student can do better.

So, someone actually has one of these? What is the sound quality like? I saw the scathing review that DaHarder gave the T29, and I hope this one is lacking that hiss he talked about.

The T39 is a far better executed DAP than the T29, and understand… I didn’t hate the T29, I even use it from time to time, but the sound quality is simply sub-par IMO, especially the 'easily distorted' low end.

It amazing the all the factors/variables that can adversely effect the sound quality of these devices (from sound processor to headphone out), and even though the T29 and T39 share the same CPU architecture/configuration, they sound very different from one another.

With that said, the T39 is a vastly superior device, and so far… a pleasure to use.

Review Coming ASAP!

So is the T39's sound as good as the Meizu M6's? How does it compare to M6's sound quality?
