I have scoured (to the best of my ability) the forums on this site and others and i can't find anywhere an explanation on just how to get MediaCoder to work. I am trying to convert divx and xvid movies down to the smaller t29 size and audio specs using the uploaded preset from a different post. I've tried MediaCoder, VirtualDub and AVICh that came bundled with my T29. In MediaCoder I get error code 13 unsupported format/missing MEncoder. I don't even know if what I'm trying to do is possible because I can't find anywhere that says if MediaCoder can do divx,xvid to xvid, mp4, avi. I see other people here have had this problem but I haven't seen ant solution posted.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated as I am unable to watch movies right now on my new toy.

Everyone is having trouble with mediacoder, because the preset files are always version specific, and everyone has a different version! I just installed mediacoder for a customer here locally, and for example, the same preset put completely different settings on his laptop. What I do in this situation is to read all the settings on my version, and manually give them to my T29 customers so that they can enter them in manually. We just converted a video yesterday on a brand new 5.1 mediacoder install (don't download 6.0).

Video:
Mencoder
XVID
Bitrate: 128k
Resolution 220X176
Frame Rate 16.00

Audio:
Lame MP3
Bitrate: CBR 128k - best quality
Sampling rate: 16000hz

You should be able to duplicate these settings on any video encoder, not just Mediacoder. The LAME MP3 part is very important though.
