RAmos Developing Monster PMP RM970

RAmos is developing a new portable media player that is looking really good. The new RM970 multilingual PMP from RAmos will be equipped with a 3.0"-inch WQVGA LCD of 480 x 272 pixels, a 200MHz Swiss ARM7 processor and a 200MHz Rockchips DSP chip from the new RK27XX series making this PMP dual core.

With amazing codec support, it is capable of playing music in MP3, WAV, WMA, OGG, FLAC, RA, AAC, APE and unconverted video in MPEG-4 AVI, RM and RMVB.

And if that wasn't enough, it is also said that RM970 will feature a 3MPx camera (video capture supported), Bluetooth, GPS navigation, DAB, NES emulator, TV-IN, TV-OUT and OTG functionality.

Currently, only a 2GB version has been announced. However, fans and experts speculate capacities up to 16GB. No word on price or release date yet.

RAmos RM970 User Interface

Recently some development shots of the RM970 UI were leaked.

The large LCD widescreen allows for a split-screen arrangement to show more information -- similar that to of Apple's new iPod Classics & Nanos.

Error are you sure of what you wrote?
From what I read previously all these spec aren't of the rm970,but of the RK27xx that "can" support all these devices, but doesn't mean the RM970 will have it.
It should be just a mp4 player with video support without conversion like the onda 989+.
It won't have any gps, bluetooth,tv out etc.

More to come... with the new rockchip chip we can expect lots of new players supported by it. If rockchip will continue its tradition it won't be a costly player.

I noticed in sere83 pics... that this new player will have cover art... which despite of not be seen clearly in the small screen, it adds a sensation of better designed player. I wish that this is part of rockchip new chip goodies.

Yeah, you are right. However, it's still unsure exactly which of these new Rockchip features RM970 will support.
