Error Message

I have recently bought this MP4 player:

Stage Touch MP4 Player 4GB With 2.5" Touch Screen Black - Ebuyer

I am currently having a problem with the video files. I am converting them to .avi file format using the AVconverter, supplied on the disc. And this is completing successfully.

I have copied it accross to the MP4 but unfortunately the error, "File Format Error" keeps displaying when its about to play. (This is after i've disconnected it from the PC).

I have tried playing the file from the MP4 on my computer and it works fine, so i know the file is not corrupt.

I have also tried many different files formats, .mp4, .mpeg etc. But none of these work.

Is there anyway of getting this to work because having an MP4 player is very pointless if i can't play/watch videos?

Also, is anyone able to tell me what make.model this is?

This player is Rockchip based, the file format must be .avi, the aviconverter software should work ok.

File Format error suggests the wrong resolution has been selected when doing the conversion, try 320x240, this should work I think for this screen size.
Did you have a sample video on the player?, if so check its resolution just to be sure.

Occasionally some videos just won't work for some reason even if they do work on the PC, maybe because of some small defect in the file, so you might like try a different video clip.

I have tried 3 different video's and have put them in 320x240 but unfortunately it still displays the error message "File Format Error".

Any other help?

What FPS are you using when converting? Try 20.

When using the AVConverter, there is no option to change the FPS. How do i go about changing it?

The version of this program is AVConverter 1.0. Is this version the correct one?

that's an old version, try this version 3.0.5 from the downloads section:-

When trying to download it, after waiting the 30seconds while it prepares itself. Then clicking the Download Now link.

A pop up error box says:

File not found.
Reason:

Then after pressing OK it says:

File not found!
The specified file can not found in our servers!
