| hah finally got my player today, it actually looks decent.
Its got bascially everything that was stated on his ebay page, cept that it uses MiniSD but not MicroSD.
on the manual it says it supports a max of 4GB miniSD which doesnt match with the maxium 16G the seller told me on ebay.
either way i think this isnt too bad of a deal for a 4G mp4 player when you compare it to the prices in the canadian market
so i just want to know how do i find out the version of rockchip??
thx |

| The 4Gb max in the manual DONT mean that -most times.
They use a 'generic' manual for a lot of the 'China' Players.
Even the 'newer' ones have that '4GB max' listed in the manual.
Only way to really know is try it.
"mini" SD slot huh?
Not a big deal as my Ainol V2000SE is also a 'mini'.
Just use 'ebay'....LOL! for mem it's ok, just make sure you bid on a 'Sandisk' as they are guarenteed for life I think, so even if you get a 'bad' one it can be sent in for replacement.
8GB is the biggest your going to find in the US right now....Most that you buy will come with a 'Mini' and a 'Full SD' adaptor. SO it will fit /work.
And should it happen it wont work in this Player...DO you have a digital Camera? It should in it.
Listen to what makd511 says though....He has forgotten more then I know.

thx | hi
post a pic of you actual player please then we can tell
also, go into the setting screen and look at the info on the player
which player does it look like from the original ebay page, as it had 2 different players on that page
thanks, at least if you like the player then cool, but if it is not what was advertised or promised than i still say start a claim
from the details you give, like MiniSD and 4gb it appears to be the older 26 series rockchip, this is a pain as they are not very flexible, no modding, firmware backup or updates, but if you like it then no probs, just enjoy it

| man, firstly , it did look nice and i tried all the functions and they were fine until i tried to play my own videos in there...
makd511, it looks like the one in the pic you've posted, so its not a real onda i suppose
Yesterday i spent 4+ hours trying to convert a video that is playable on that thing. The only video that can be played is the sample video(the bear one) and i tried using all kinds of converting softwares(not to mention the Driver CD that came along didn't even work) to convert RMVB into AVI files the same format as the sample video, aka 320 x 240, 120kbps for audio, 65kbps for video and all that. No success what so ever.
Im waiting for his reply on this, if he isn't able to solve this problem i will have to return it or call it a fraud.
sigh...now i know why this was much cheaper than the prices of VX747s on the biggest chinese online market, aka taobao.com
but really, as long as i get this video thing to work i wouldnt complain
does any one know how to deal with this video problem?
thanks |

| vidrop on mympxplayer.org
video on these older players is very specific
best settings are
320x240, 350-500lbps for video, low auidio rate, 22fps (mor may be poss) AND MP2 for audio = IMPORTANT also only xvid avi is accepted
now vidrop is a free community project that is very good and has presets for this players type
what you are experiencing is not a fault but is general on these players, they are very limited
, newer rockchips do not have this problem at all, in fact they would play RMVB direct, no converting needed
vidrop Download
i would still put a claim in though and get your money back, i have reported the sale and if you do aswell, the whole sale was ambiguous and you deserve your money back, when you do we can point you in the right direction for a more up to date, but srill cheap player |

| I want to reiterate what I have stated in other posts (here or on other boards) - given that there are so many Rockchip RK2706 players out now and also there the VX747 price has dropped considerably (for both branded and a real OEM version) - I would stay away from any player using the Rockchip RK2608A chipset.

i wish to god we could reach all these buyers before they press the damn button on ebay, an impossible task i know
and its not just players using the 26 series chips, its the pure fact that the cheap ones like this onda 858 clone, and the 747 rockchip clones are just so badly made, cheap, bad construction and no real possible updates like when buying branded chinese players |

| I have to say that I was amazed that they went through the trouble to recreate the VX747 O.S. on the Rockchip RK2706 clone version of the Onda VX747. On the other side of the coin, someone posted a review of a RK2706 clone of the VX757 and the screen shots looked nothing like the VX757 but rather the same O.S. found on most generic "Public Branded" RK2706 players.

| rmvb i do not think is supported, it was never really that popular a format until recent so i do not think the main converter in the source of this supports rmvb, not totally sure |
