Cannot switch Onda Vx747 off

Hi all,

this is my first post here, hope to have some help:

I just got 5 sets of Onda VX747 today, and 1 set cannot be switched off.
When i hold the power button, the player switches off and i let go, it comes back on again.

i suspect the spring mechanism (or whatever it is) inside is not placed properly, so it is not in neutral position.

any way i can solve it without opening it up?

i also have basic knowledge on electronics (ps2,xbox,gc,xbox360), if i can have more info on the switch, i could probably mess with it and try to set it to neutral position.

sending it back to china costs US30 which is rather expensive for a 'dead on arrival ' set

oh well nvm the player discharged itself totally anyway, the next time i charged it, it somehow "callibrated" the power switch button. no more problems.

If your Onda VX747 (or VX757, or most other players) is ever in a state where it is just "locked up" and cannot be switched off you can use the reset hole on the side of the player. There is a small button behind the hole that can be pressed by inserting a paperclip or something into the hole. Pressing this button should reboot your player.

Be Warned- Only use the reset hole in extreme cases, do not use this otherwise or you risk corrupting the file system on the player.

If you have your VX777 lock up on you:

While holding the power button, push the reset(yes it's tricky).
Then make sure you have the original firmware just in case, so that you can get it back up and running quickly.
This happened to me when I was trying to add the modded firmware the first time.
