Just a note about the reset hole on the side of the VX747 - you really should never use this unless you are in a strange lock up condition like CSHAMAN89 reported (ie. Dire Emergency). If you press the reset pin during normal use you risk thrashing the file system, especially if the player is in the middle of a write access to the FLASH (this applies both the built in NAND FLASH and external SD Micro card FLASH). The player's shutdown sequence may also do things to properly close out the file system

vve you tried the vx777 firmware on the 747, modded and works on the 747 much better

makd511, can you load actual VX777 firmware on the VX747 or do you have to get a modded version of the VX777 firmware to load on the VX747?

you need a modded version, done by a gut on the ondabbs called Tomac, he was also the developer of the game emulator on the v2000se player

users that have done this and applied this mod seem to be well impressed with the improvements over the standard 747 firmware

No problem makd511. I come to this forum and that other public one to provide what assistance I can. I know that the world of mp4 players can be confusing, I try to steer people in the right direction whenever possible. I try and write useful articles on our blog when I can as well (as opposed to reposting other people's blog posts that seems the norm these days). I've visited the forum that you mentioned - it is actually quite useful as you state.
