Problem adding video to player

Hi, i've bought the Onda VX858 and am having trouble loading video in, if I add an avi file (Divx/Xvid) it's in the memory but when I go to play it the player tells me that the format is wrong. I'm a new poster so apologies if this seems an obvious one, also if I attach to the computer vis usb I can see the movie AND play it from the player onto the computer, it just wont play on the players own screen! Any suggestions guys, by the way, my player doesn't actually say Onda so I guess it's a clone maybe, but looks exactly the same. I have to say the converting software doesn't seem to work very well and takes hours to convert so have had to try other software (3rd party) What do others use to get working video into this player? Sorry to ramble on, Thanks, Blacksocks.

download avi converter 4.0 its the same for 858 and 878 onda models. this should resolve your problem.

What settings did you use when converting your videos.

I'm assuming here that you have an Onda VX858 or VX878 clone.

Try using the program VIDROP for your converting needs for this clone player. I'm assuming also here that your player has the Rockchip RK2608A chip.

You need to have the following settings set or videos probably won't play at all:

Frame Rate: <= 24fps
Resolution: 320 X 240
Aspect Ratio: 4:3
AVI - XVID Encoding

I'm not sure where to find the VIDROP program but a simple Google search can help as well as the many other useful members of this forum.

Cheers,

David
