Dealextreme sells an payer which seems to have exact the same firmware as ONDA otherwise a clone at least

I think it does more... VX858 doesn't have Microsoft PlayFX.
Onda VX878 it does have it.

Are you sure VX858 doesn't have PlayFX? I'm sure that VX858LE has it.

PlayFX is the reason why I've started to hate Onda. It was announced by the time I bought my Onda, 4 month ago. By that time I installed the latest firmware for my VX858 that is v00.00.0017, nor in this nor in v00.02.0017 comes PlayFX.

During this time I saw a post in Onda/BBS showing the screen for the next firmware, showing playlist and PlayFX, like it is in Teclast C260.
2 month ago, people started to ask Onda why no new firmware for VX858 and some other model I don't recall.

Three gossips were running in Onda/BBS:
1.- PlayFX not compatible with Wolfson WM8750 of VX858
2.- Onda technicians devoting all their time to VX979+ instead other models
3.- Commercially not affordable to devote people to new firmware with the new features for VX858

This has some true on it... considering that v00.01.004 of VX858LE does have PlayFX, which is a very similar machine with VX858, but no Wolfson chip.

By that time was a daily story people complaining about Onda delay of firmwares.

Suddenly Onda decided to stop the BBS for all users. Since then all technical question have to be done by mail to moderators, who would answer.
Lack of answers and fear of users reaction was the reason for me.

So no Microsoft PlayFX for Onda VX858. I'm trying to sell my player and buy an VX8858LE.

I will have the chance to change it as I was asked by a seller to recover a couple of VX858LE blocked, if I make them working I will suggest to sell my VX858 with Wolfson and keep for me a VX858LE with PlayFX.

The real reason is the 3rd.
None cared a shit of paying more to buy the wolfson version,so they abandoned it.
Plus i can tell you there is really no difference at all in these 2(with and without wolfson) I don't understand if they just put the chip for show or what.
I think there is a big difference instead between the c290 and the vx858(not sure which is better,just much different) while they are based on the same hardware.

I can assure that sound and image of VX858 is one of the best I've seen/hear in an MP4 Rockchip based. I do have a Teclast C260 with PlayFX, which sound is very good too, more powerful after installation of PlayFX.
I can say that my Cowon D2 have a sound as good as VX858, being a bit more enjoyable for me the sound of VX858.
I have also a M3 Meizu, which sport also a very good sound.
The best sound for me is that of VX858... unfortunately the raw interface of this Rockchip, makes me more fan of Cowon D2 (my main player nowadays) and M3 Meizu.
