Yeah, it seems only the moderators can post new threads. I also noticed this, strange...

I think they moved everything to the other forum :
Translated version of http://www.onda.cn:8080/index.asp?boardid=30

Because i noticed some topic went there. But it sucks because you can't find anything now,it's too messy.

Because the company website promotes, the forum in the near future will be unable to send pastes, has the product technology and the use question user, might send E-MAIL to arrive mp3@onda.cn, we will be able promptly to reply

This is a Google translation of a message sent by the administrator, the guy that usually posted new firmware and important news.

What I understand is that due to an "upgrade" of company website, "in the near future" it would be unable to send post to the forum, so matters concerning technology and user question should be asked thru e-mail sent to mp3@onda.cn, the administrators will be able to replay promptly.

I was usually reading news concerning VX858, and in the last days, before closing, complains concerning update of firmware were getting more and more aggressive. IMHO, the simply decided to cut this by closing the forum.

So... few chances to have a upgrade of firmware for VX858, for me the problems with some options promised overpassed their capabilities. They announced basically playlist managing and PlayFX for VX858. Teclast was capable of implement this in their firmware v01.10.0001-874E for C260, non-Wolfson rockchip player. Onda just couldn't...

One of the biggist problems is that alot of people have got the fake onda copys of the VX858 or VX858LE I'm not talking about the true Onda Oem players made by there factory ecom. I'm talking about all the cheap fake copys from bad factorys. That has caused alot of problems for onda there are more people with onda fakes then with real onda or onda oem players. So even if they did upgrade the firmware to PlayFX and added play list. It would not work for most people because they have a fake player. A different factory will use cheaper rockchips cheaper boards you name it. So the upgrade will not work. Then you will get people posting on there forum that Onda is Crap, Onda Sucks, We need a new Firmware, Onda player are junk and these people do not have a Onda player. All they have is a look a like.

Some one on this forum just got a player from ebay the seller has the name Onda VX858 what he got is not a onda or real onda oem. But a cheap fake copy If he update the firmware to Onda he could kill his player.

Just look at how most fake copy effect the mp4 maket.
Fake MP4 Nano's people was buying them thinking they were apple
Fake Teclast people buy them because they look like real Teclast
Fake Meizu people buy Them because they look like the real Meizu

Most people get the fakes and are unhappy with it. Then they try to get support from the real company for a fake product. They dont get it and then bash the real company. The Truth is buying the cheap fake copy give the real company no money there for you did not pay for any type of support.

Hello guys! I'm new to the forum and i just bought a Onda Vx858. And unfortunately i tried to do a reskin to it and i killed it, because idiot that i am i uploaded the LE firmware to it instead of the standard VX858, and now when i turn it on i get the welcome screen and then at the main menu it gets blocked and i cant do anything to it anymore except reset it, to turn it back off, and i tried to do what you said with the auto update tool by turning off the player and then pressing on the buttons for 10 secs with the USB connected, and i got nothing(i installed the CUSTOMER UPDATE software, with 3 vers now 2.8.1, 3.1.0.0 and 3.1.2.0).Is there anything else i can do, or did I proceed correctly?
Must I have the original firmware from the MP4 player because i have the vers 0.0.8 and 0.0.16 and 0.0.17?
please help.thank you

I suspect that you will need to do a hardware recovery... if what 00christian00 suggest you to do doesn't work, the only possible solution requires to open the case... which is a major decision as it could produce to loose guarantee
