Microsoft PlayFX - All the juicy info!

Recently many MP4 players have gotten software upgrades with a new sound enhancement solution called Microsoft PlayFX. What exactly is it? Check the article below.

China (mainland) – Fuzhou Rockchip Electronics Co. Ltd and Microsoft Corp. will jointly develop a system-on-a-chip solution that will enhance sound quality in portable media players and enable users to customize their listening experience. Dubbed Microsoft PlayFX, this next generation audio technology will be integrated into Rockchips RK26xx, RK27xx, and RK28xx audio processors and will support 3D audio, pure bass, and AutoVolume functions in portable media players.

In addition, Rockchip will also be integrating VC-1 and WMDRM 10 on all its upcoming full-series chipsets to meet Windows Vista requirements.

It's 3D audio, pure bass, and AutoVolume

Enhance greatly volume of the player. My C260 have it and with this effect developed by Microsoft for their game consoles, now sound twice the volume with deep bass sound and no distortion. It's a new machine.
Bass and 3D have 3 positions each... I use them in the lowest level.
Autovolume is on and off... and level the whole volume of the player.

I don't like equalization but I've enjoyed this effect, the old songs sound revitalized.
