Thanks wang2k,

I also noticed a few other advantages: Increased volume level, file system is now FAT32 by default, improved FM reception quality (as it seems to me).

However, they also included a few new bugs... :-)

- Uploading files to the player is very VEEEEEEEERY slow now...
- Trying to play FLV files causes my player to crash.
- FM.ini file is no longer supported
- the zoom function for photos is nice (you can also navigate within the photo), but it's only a sort of "digital zoom" which only doubles the pixels but does not improve resolution of the picture.

Bye

I updated my player, it work for a time but after doing a power off and power on again, I have the "system init..." screen, and the player don't boot anymore .
Is my player dead? Is there anything to do to reset it?

I founded this on the teclast website: http://translate.google.com/translat...a%3dpage%253D2
They describe the way to solve our problem. But it's an automatic translation of chinese by google, and my english is also not so good. I can't understand enough the translation.

Hi there,

this is strange, but I do not have these problems. When I updated to the new fw version (using update software 2.8.1 - a quite old version i think) I also had the message "system init" at next boot up. It took about 5 minutes till the message disappeared and the player went in normal operating mode. But since then the message never appeared again.

Did you try the "soft recovery" ? This means you have to power off your player (move switch to right position), then press and hold the soft power button, connect USB while holding the button for another 5 or 10 seconds. Then you should be in upgrade mode, the pc recognizes a rockusb device (or asks for drivers). If this works you should be able to run the update software and flash to an older fw version.

Hope this works !!!

regards
