Smile New c280 - need to update Firmware?

Hello all! I am brand new... to this forum... to the world of mp4 players... etc. I hope I am not asking a question I shouldn't be asking (I searched, but wasn't sure if I found the answer I was looking for). I will give it a shot anyway, because this forum seems to be full of super nice, helpful folks and I have no fear (well, not MUCH) of being shot down! :-)

I just purchased my first player after a month or more of research. I decided on a 4GB Teclast C280. Ordered it from FutureDAPS. My question is -- will it come with all the latest firmware loaded on it and be all up to date and ready to go? Or do you think it will need some tweaking? Will there be a way to tell? Or is new firmware even necessary on the C280? Does it work just fine as it it, straight out of the box?

I'm so excited to finally be getting one of these little deals! You guys all seem so thrilled with yours, you got me all worked up and anxious to get mine and start playing with it! Darn that Columbus, he's going to make me wait an extra day for my mail delivery this week! LOL!

Thanks for any C280 insight you guys can give me.

Later!

Marty

Smile Teclast C280 from Futuredaps

Grady,

Seller specific questions should be posted in "marketplace" part of forum, but I can answer all of your questions. Your C280 will be shipped with 1.09.0009 firmware, the latest and greatest version so far. You will want to tweak the EQ and effects settings to taste once you receive the player, that should be about it. The player will be shipped USPS Priority Mail, so you should get it in no time at all. I am located in Columbus, very close to Indiana indeed.

About the Pasen T39, It appears to be the best of all branded versions out there, including Teclast. Not only are there 8GB versions available, but 2nd run buttons, and completely Teclast firmware friendly! I should have some in stock in a few weeks, if all goes well.

The first few T39s produced were terrible! But these problems only occured in the first few players to come off assembly line. All players stocked in stores now (regardless of button arrangement) do not suffer from these early problems.

Welcome to the forum, by the way!

Skysports,

Thanks for your great info and sorry to show my "forum ignorance." I think I'm too old (42) to even attempt to take part in these discussions. I have no idea where I'm supposed to post, or even what to ask without stepping on toes! :-) But as I say, all the folks here seem to be awfully kind about such things, case in point -- YOU!

I'm glad to be doing business with you. I really look forward to receiving my C280 this week. And I will keep an eye on your website for the T39 to come back in stock. I think I should have one... just as back up... wouldn't you agree?! ;-)

(now, how to convince my husband!?)

Thanks again for the kind welcome to this forum.

Martha

grady193... do you think that a young guy would waste his precious time posting comments in a fansite like this?

Or have the money to buy 3 or 4 players for testing and reviews?

Welcome grady193... and write a review of your device ASAP

HA! You're probably right! I guess I was assuming I was older than the average poster on this forum (and I'm a woman, too, is that against the odds?)... but perhaps I'm not so different! And hey... maybe there's more stay-at-home mom's out there, spending their time posting on/reading forums like me, eh? After all, we don't go to school and we don't have an office job = more computer time! ;-)
