New Firmware (01.09.0007) problems.

Hello everyone, This will also be my intro post. Anyway, I am the proud owner of a C280 2GB player and I noticed the new firmware 01.09.0007 on the Teclast website, so I downloaded it and installed and now I only have 1.18GB of free memory out of 2GB. What gives? I downgraded to a previous firmware and it's still recognizing only 1.18GB. Arrrgh!!! Well, the only reason I decided to try the newest firmware was because they claim FLAC support. Is this true? How do I get my memory back?

Great community you got here, nice to meet everyone!

edit: For those that care, I noticed I don't need that extra .rfw file in my root directory.
If you reboot your player twice, the screen will go back to normal brightness and all will work fine.

Ok I can confirm FLAC compatibility! I had to put the FLAC files in the root directory. If I palced them in the mp3 directory, the player would not play the files (file not recognized).

Alex

You might try putting them in a Flac folder. It really shouldn't matter but the
mp3 folder may be expecting MP3s

Don't know what to think about the ram size changing, thats fairly typical on a no name mp4 player, but I wouldnt expect a hacked flash on a Teclast.

Ok, thanks for the info guys!

I'm gonna try to fix it when I get home from work.

On a side note, I've noticed that with the new firmware, the system becomes a little unstable when playing FLAC files. Buttons respond more slowly and the player actually crashed once when I was skipping from one song to the next.

I wonder if the hardware in the player is not powerful enough to decode the high bitrate FLAC files efficiently?
