Talking Interesting Find

Hi there!

I just lost my whole message for some reason - the site appears to have logged me out mid-edit and then eaten my post. So, I am going to make a short version.

I just got the player below:

It is made by a company called Hip Street, but it appears to be internally virtually the same as a C280 player. Someone put up a couple of games on here and they work perfectly on my player.

The buttons are located on top of the unit instead of beside the screen, but they are all the same buttons (Vol+/Vol-, |<<, >>|, Mode and Play).

There are subtle graphical differences and all menus are in English when English is selected, but the specs appear to be identical.

Does anyone know if they licensed the technology to someone else to produce or sold the guts to another company to put in a different case? I have only owned this for around 10 hours but I am wishing I had known about these players sooner - this thing is great!

I am on a quest for information and such. The web page for the company that supposedly made it has absolutely NOTHING about it, and you are the only sign of anything similar. I hope you don't mind a bastard cousin of your player hanging around trying to get a little more info!

It is just the VISTA PLAYER that appears to be rebranded by HIP STREET. They purchased them in quantity and paid a little extra to put HIP STREET on them. I can buy them as well in large quantity and pay them to put CRUISIN MUSIC on them if I wanted to. The firmware appears to be similar to the Teclast just laid out differently. UXCELL.COM manufactures the original VISTA go check'm out!

I don't think that "Vista" is the original. And this player uses the same chipset as the Teclast C260 does. (rockchip)

Thanks for pointing me in that direction.

Whoever runs this site really needs to fix this problem where the site logs me out in the middle of a post. I had written another long message that has been eaten. I am not going to bother retyping it.

That happens to me with some sites too, If you use Firefox, there is an extension called "It's All Text!" that allows you to easily use your own text editor to type into browser text boxes.

I just bought one of these too, it's very nice! Does anyone know which Teclast player this is equal to, C260 or C280, and can it use the Teclast firmware or games (and how many games are available, mine only came with one game). Thanks for your help.

looking through the hipstreet web page... found this...

Too bad none of their players have more than 2G of memory or FLAC support, though.

Does anyone know if this can use the C260 or C280 firmware? I'd like to change the theme but I don't want to brick it either! Thanks.

If you install the Teclast firmware, you will most likely brick it. So I suggest that you shouldn't. The Teclast theme isn't nice either, the main menu is really nice but the rest is very disappointing.
