I got my Teclast C280 today and I love it...

but when I connected it to the PC and wanted to charge it, it became very warm and when I unplugged it, it just became crazy, the menu is moving itself :| and it doesnt stop...I cant even turn it off omg :|

The battery 'died' and now it works again...although how should I charge it? because it doesnt show the chargeing screen when its connected to the PC....

i have firmware 3/30/2007 downloaded from http://rapidshare.com from cruisinmusic,when connect to computer to charge initially it goes to the computer screen with a cord( can add and delete files on player through computer) i right click on the icon on task bar and unplug or eject hardware then i stop on usb mass strage device c280 after i do that it goes to the charge screen. i press a button and goes to menu screen (at this point the screen is not flickering was never flicering or doing any waves) i can play a song or video and the icon appers to fluctuate between diffrent capasitys meaning charging. when stop playing the song ect, the screen turns of(because of settings). when press the button again in goes back to the charging screen, i dont know how long it takes to charge but it eventually has a green chage complete icon(no more fluctuating). Had one prob bought a usb ac wall thing to chage it insted of computer, should have read it before use but usb spec is 5V but this adaptor was 6V the screen was ripiling, luckaly i unplugged it and screen appeared normal. Thinking of makeing a usb charger which uses 4 aa rechargable batteries 1.2 v each (4.8 V) but dont feel confident enough because of resistor or something--maby i will treat it like a led light with a voltage of 5 v and 100 ma.

can anyone upload tetris (RKP extention) from their c260 i think it should work on the c 280.

i use headphones, been able to pump volume up to 40 no sound prob.

to update firmware install prog from cd then load prog, go into setting in device and right below system info. update firmware select that then select ok then it will ask update yes or no then select yes then connect usb yes or no at this point i connect usb it goes to the comuter with cord screen i load the firmware update prog load the firmware version (.rfw file) click update, sould say succesful . exit and reboot then go into settings and change language if need to from defult to ect...

usefull things c280: record fm radio press lock button in radio to switch to record radio then press it again to record, press m to stop and save the recording will be saved in folder fm(it will be created if not there). the lock keepad also works in c280 as in c260 when playing video ect press and hold play then after 3 sec at same time press and hold lock ley for 2 sec and it should lock/unlock keepad, good to use if watching a video and haveing to keep fast forwarding because a button is pressed. if playing a song in song player hold m to exit the player the song will still be playing --the song appears louder. to delete song picture txt filewav file ext go into explorer menu or any highlight song press lock button and delete file will pop up yes or no. to use a game throw the game file(.rkp) file into any folder or in main folder and open it up un game catagory by pressing play or m. only thing noticed is that screen doesnt have wide viewing angle( not as easy on eyes as tv) but hey get what pay for as boart would say "nice!". it would be nice in furture players to have better display and have a fold out keyboard to type just simple characters in ebook + save. will hold off on tv out and internet till the xo laptop comes out(100$ laptop, more like 200)

dont use near heater- cant identify finger presses. pretty sweet touch pad no buttons, it would be cool if there was a version of the touch pad that was also a camera, hey if it can sense then it can photograph, then what u can give it some soil and it can tell u what its made of...lol

@gelmut, I figured out how to charge it
And yes gressy, It clicked on 'remove hardware safetly'
but it takes a loooong time to charge it. I also tried a USB charger, it seems to charge it but even slower :|

i dont knoiw the diff between c260 and 289 but eng manual for c260 says charging(pg.22 of 28) takes 8 hr to charge first 2 times and 3 hrs regular, might help.
