Strange :|
What I hear, is that the C280 is a bit louder. Maybe your C280 is a bit defective?

I also received my Teclast C280 today And I love it so far!

Shouldn't be any real difference in volume on the T29 and 260, or 280. Ive only seen 1 firmware version on the 280 so maybe you have an older one, or the units got issues.

I love the sound on the C280. I can't go over 30. If I do that, I would get hearing problems prolly. ^^

i actually compared a t29 and a c280 with all effects on both and both turned up to 40. it feels low and distorted on the c280. possibly because i am comming from a music family and i can hear things in depth.

No. :| That's so strange. The sound is almost the same. (maybe even 100% same) because they have the same sound chip.

I don't know about the T29 or the C280, but the C260 which does use a different sound chip to the others, has good sound, but you have to be careful with EQ.

I use the "USER" setting for EQ and I have have to set the graphic EQ so that all sliders are below the middle, especially the bass.
I have some nice earbud headphones from Sony, and I set the lowest bass slider to flat - everything else is lower than that. That gives me bass boost with no distortion, just up the volume a notch or two.

Try yours with no EQ at all, see if the sound is bad. I think if it is, you do have a dud one.

I don't have bad sound problem with the mp3's, but I do have a bad sound problem from video converted, the source of the video is having a great sound, but after convert it using avconverter (included in the cd) and put it into c280, the sound quality is really really bad, is it possible that this is codec problem ? since i can't play the converted file in my windows media player (no sound)
