Thanks minsuflo,

The problem is that they never reply to emails seem that they have very bad service. For time being i dont know what improvement I can get if I upgrade, I have version 1.7.8 installed. Is it worth trying it ? or I better wait as I satisfied with actual Sound quality. Only thing is that i would have like to read Flac. But i can live without it lolzzz

Netuser,

When I got my C280, it was installed with 1.8.10 firmware. I am not aware of 1.7.8. The latest as I have mentioned is 1.9.4. I am not sure if the player you have is C280, it sounds more like C260. I hope somebody can confirm regarding the 1.7.8 firmware if it is for C260.

Sound is definitely cleaner with the new firmware and the touch sensor is less sensitive to accidental touching based on my experience. Also even if I don't know what is new on the firmware as everything is in Chinese, I would normally upgrade because I always believe a company will not waste resources on improving/releasing new software if not justified.

Hi,

I've tried many firmwares on my NEO zazz x-line 8 Gb (apparently a clone from the C280 but as time goes I'm not so sure about it) and the result was that I wasn't able to access the memory.

This one is the first (beside the original firmware but unavailable on the internet as far as I know, it's the same as netuser's) that granted me the access of the intern memory.

But even if I can put some MP3 I can(t read them. The radio is not functionning and I'm unable to transfer videos. And I have a buzz noise when I move into the menus.

But I have one question, your firmware comes with 2 files, one is labeled TL-C280(1.09.004).rfw and the other is something in chinese.rfw.

When I try to use the chinese file I've a firmware file error in the consumer updater, should I use this by transfereing it in the C280 ??

TIA for your answer.

PS : Sorry for my poor english, I hope you'll understand.

Berlinois,

Only use the TL-C280(1.09.004).rfw. Curious, I have never encountered that memory problem you and Netuser talked about. My guess is you guys bought a hacked MP4 player and the 8 GB you thought you have maybe smaller than that. I have never seen Teclast C280 released with 8 GB of memory both in export version and local in China.

Unless you have problems with your current firmware, I will not upgrade due to the various instability issues you and Netuser had.

Netuser - the Hardware 3D, Bass and Treble are in the "Settings" ---> "music".

My favorite sound settings:

Hardware 3D: 50%
Hardware Bass: 80%
Hardware Treble: 100%
Equalizer: Rock.

Sound is very balanced with warm bass on my AKG K26P and even with Meizu PT-850 earphones.

As Netuser said, its a full 8 gb memory, when you format under windows you have 7957 mb after the update of the firmware.

As in computer I'm used to upgrade the firmware.

For example I bought after the c280 a sony nw-a806 (frankly it's another world of reliability and sound) then I upgraded it with no problem whatsoever. 1 min and 45 seconds, watch in hand and it was done.

But the main problem is the lack of support of the firm that resell those mp3 players on the french market (NEO-Europe), I wrote them a couple email (two at the PR manager) but no answers and I think that I'm blacklisted because now I have no acknowledgement of reception of my emails.

I just have to wait they put a new firmware on their site, update as my c280 is not bricked, and after that I'll use the warranty and send it to them for an exchange.

Firmware problem

Hello,

I just bought the last C280 (called Neo Zazz Evolution 8G in France), and I wanted to upgrade the firmware.

I shouldn't, because since I tried, I've had lots of problems.

When I received it, I get a 01.08.000X version, which was good, because I put a Game folder and played with the provided games without any problems.

But I found the V01.09.0004 firmware, so I try to update it. Actually I did it successfully, but I have no sound at all !!! (very annoying for a MP3 player...)

So I decid to put another version, I have not found the V01.08.000X version, but I found the V01.07.0008. So I had updated with this one. Other problem : I can't put any file in my C280, the device is recognized, as I can see it in win explorer, but when I double clic on it, I have a message error that tells me to insert a disc !

So, I thought that my player was not a C280 but a C260. ERROR !!! I put a wrong firmware (C260 V01.08.000X), it upgrade successfully but when I try to use it, it was blocked, the touchpad was not in function.

I was very lost. A friend try to "reset it", pushing the start button before power it on, and maintening it pressed for few seconds. This way the player puts itself in "upgrade mode" so I can put anoter firmware inside.

If someone has the C280 01.08.000X version firmware, I would be very happy to receive it...

Because for now, I have a player that I can't use.

Thks for help.

I have the same problem as you Berlinois

I used the original firmware (V01.08.000x), everything was ok.
I upgrade it in V01.09.0004, same problem : no sound.
I upgrade it in V01.07.0008 : can't access to the memory

Did you find a solution ?
