C260 Official firmware V01.10.0010

Teclast have just released a new firmware.
Impovements?

- solved problem with WMA when single repeat used
- some unknown improvements with ebook (I dont know which exacly)
- increased performence

In my opinion teclast didnt give its best shot. Old bugs are still unsolved. Of course better this than nothing. I thought teclast abondoned support for C260 but it seems not

Download Link

ps. 01.10.0010 is only in CI version, for NOCI users theres a 01.10.0001 version of firmware.

What are the old bugs?

Information on improvements in Teclast/BBS is really poor... I know that there must be other improvements,
If not doesn't justify to change number xxx.0001 to xxx.0010
When inmplemnting PlayFX the didn't change number only some letters...
damn

the old bugs:

- when I play song from the directory source (not playlist) and go to the ebook, the next played song will be from next folder, becouse the player think that the next mp3 is located in the same folder as file.txt which is readed, it gives "file format error" and go to next file till the first mp3 of next folder. In my case it is disaster becouse...

- ... I cant use playlist using microsd at all, it is useable only with flash memory. I am really regret that I chose 1gb version of teclast, and bought an external sd card.

I was hoping that these bugs were going to be solved in next firmware but they r not

Ok I get you point when is mixed music with e-books. Indeed is a bug... but you have to agree that is a very special situation.

Something that haven't been resolved yet is to mix in one list the music of flash memory with that of miniSD (microSD).
I can address both separately but not together.
To address any of them the user have to go into "music > "dir list" select "flash memory" or "minisd card" > back to "music" > "update". This will update the list of the one selected in "dir list".
Maybe this can help you to create playlists maybe of mixed sources (I never use playlists as I always listen an entire album all the time).

Let me know if it works.

I must say I never use playlists. I think that a playlist feature is the most difficult to implement as it involves creating and constantly rewriting some sort of database to the player.

One of the feature I like most about Rockchip is to be able to delete a track from the player, the playlist has to be able to cope with changes like this, which can lead to problems.

What really annoys me is why the firmware developers didn't implement album art, the Rockchip is easily capable of doing this with very little programming effort.

Regarding access to MiniSd and flash, It is a hardware limitation of Rockchip you can only access either internal flash or MiniSd, but not both at the same time sadly, again difficult for the playlist to cope with.

I like the simple rawness of the Rockchip firmware, I wouldn't like to see MS windows style hourglass on my player and I'm and concerned Rockchip involvement with MS may screw things up.
Then it'll be time to switch to Actions

Hmmm thanks for replies. First of all playlist doesnt work with microsd at all. I can update the database and collect all this files to the entries of artist album and such. But if I go and click this entries it doesnt play. It seems that player writes database in flash memory (and as it was mentioned we cant use 2 sources at time) and when I want to play the file located in microsd card it just doesnt change the source to the sd card, so it cannot be played. When I press M in playlists to play some file nothing happens. Just like there would be no function provided for this operation.
I was trying everything, and I am pretty sure about where and why the problem appears.

The question is, has Teclast any beta testers for new firmwares? Such bugs are quite easy to detect and since V01.10.0001 they did nothing. It was long time ago, I thought they ll notice such bugs and solve them in next release. I would like to have fewer new functions instead of these which are very buggy.

Another thing which bother me is ebook. I dont know wheter its solved by know, but I have been using V01.09.0009 before and I was using ebook often, and I noticed that some of the lines were missing. For example if in the file is "enter" character then in some cases all the line is missing. But when I pass this line and scroll it down, and up again it is shown as normal, but only if I scroll down and up again.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,
I am currently running the V01.10.0001 firmware in my CI version player. Everything is working as it should. After I download the 0010 version, I have tried to install the Firmware Update program, I get an error. I have downloaded version 3.1.0.0 of the Firmware Update program, this is what I used to install .0001 firmware. When I try to load 0010 with 3.1.0.0 I get a Firmware File Error. Does 0010 need a different version of the Firmware Update program? I have updated the firmware on this player (and all my others) many times, I have experience in updates.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
John
