I have an original teclast tl-c260, but never upgraded any kind of firmware before. I've read a lot of posts, and I am a little bit worried. The part that really worries me is that all the manuals are in Chinese, and so is the website. I love this player and don't want to wreck it. I'm hoping with all you tech-savy people out there, someone will be able to give me step by step directions, so I don't kill it.

Don't scare.
First, is this C260 ? Many rebranded C260, so please check your player.You said you have original,. You can post some pics.
Second, check your firmware be using. And sure it CI or NOCI. But almost of rebranded is CI, you said you have original C260, so check it in Setting menu.
Final, download the V1.10 FW and its firmware updater, get update. Updating few min, don't get bored.

This is the original TL-c260. It says CI on the back also. My firmware is 01.06.1932(CI), dated 2007-01-19. Do I download the firmware update from this forum? Is there a specific order to update everything?

Download updater from V1.10 Official topic or the V1.10 FW too. You can download some skin such as MAC and just update as a firmware, so. Please backup your data first, different type of firmware (yours 1.06 with 1.10) will clear your data and it 'll format after firmware update. Format FAT32 and restore data.
Same type of firmware, but different skin; don't need backup, update directly.
