Question What kinda of firmware do i need help

Well i dont know if i have a TL 260, it look like, one but mine is 2 gb and can support 4 gb with sd. When i plug it in my pc I do get the TL C260 for a brief second with the usb cable. When i bought it i only had a video converter 3.0 on a burn cd thats pretty much it. I´m able to just open and drop files like usb memory card and to open it on the player, i just open folder to see what i want to play or view of course it also depends on the icon i click on like music, video, radio, photo, text, record, explorer, game, settings

the firmware it has on it right now is

Ver: 01.06.1932 (CI)
date 2007-01-19
flashmem: 0 / 2000 mb
cardMem: 0 / 0 MB

i added a rough my sketch on what it sorta look when you take the back cover off

I was just curious if i could Customize anything on it.

well any help you guys give me would be really helpfull, otherwise i just leave it the way it is since it works fine.

Read what I wrote in another forum concerning C260 non-branded or emulators requirements... http://www.mympxplayer.org/teclast-c...on-vt7631.html

To have a backup firmware would be preferable...if all answer are yes then download a version of Teclast firmware and install it... then you can change lots skins which is the plus of have known firmware developers.

Try to install version 01.09.0009-CI which have lots of goodies and it's no so demanding in resources as 01.10.0001. If everything work then you can install it later.

I have one that isn't a 260, but it's close. The only differences are:

1. It has a speaker
2. It has a seperate power button
3. It has the old Rockchip menus

But the other things are the same:
1. It has the front panel buttons in the right place, and the symbols are backlit
2. It uses a microSD (transflash) card
3. It can play Rockchip games added on.

I know the T260 firmware will probably not work on this, but i'd like to at least change the look of the main menu. Does anyone know where I can get the firmware for this player? There are a few firmwares on the disk, but i'm not confident that any of them are the right one.

maybe you can tell name, sizes and dates of the firmware you have.
I do have one is:

1600#upgrade soft_MLC_FM.rfw ... 14451kb ... 2007-04-27.

this software is for a player like the one you describe

Hola, Daremos, quizas tu puedas ayudarme. Maybe you can help me. I need a new firmware for my mp4. I have one that isn't a 260 but it's too close. (Rockchip RK 2608A). Its firmware is very old: version 00.01.011, 2006-06-20. I´d like to update it. The differences with the Teclast C260 are:

1. It has two speakers
2. It has a separate power button
3. It has the old Rockchip menus

But the other things are the same:
1. It has the front panel buttons in the right place, and the symbols are backlit
2. It has a slot for microSD card up to two Mb.
3. It can play Rockchip games.

Thank you in advance,
Gracias,
Gaudier. el trasandino.

That's one of the software's that came on the disk, but in the player it just says Ver: 00.00.0000 2007-04-27. Do you think it's the same one? Should I try to upgrade it?

Size of module is very important... around 14451... by date it seems to be the same.

Anyway before anything try to plug USB while you press POWER button... it this put your player in "upgrade / rockusb" mode... then you can save your player with other firmware.

You said that this firmware comes in your bundle cd... then you can ask for a warranty if this didn't work... anyway if it comes in the player I don't see a reason for it not to work.

It looks like the same firmware. BTW I just got a bull**** answer from the seller about the firmware. The ebay auction clearly showed a player compatible with the TC260 (no round power button, same menu), but the player I actually got was a non-compatible player with an round power button and the old Rockchip menu. I emailed the seller saying that the menu was not the same as on the ebay ad and could I please have the firmware with the new menu. This is what he said:
Quote:
this firmware is new version
the red color menu is old and have many problem
the new menu version has fixed all problem
Ha! I'm not going to argue because I don't want to send the player all the way back to China, and it's a nice player, it's just that the ebay ad showed a different player.

Daremos, this is my MP4 http://www.chinavasion.com/product_i...thium-battery/

Do you think may I get somewhere a new firmware for this. I'm bored with it because when a put it on it always returns to Mandarin language.
I hope you, as an expert, can help me.
