Is this player compatible with Teclast 260 Firmwares?

I'm from the Philippines and im new to this forum, I just bought a MP4 Player that looks similar to Teclast 260. I was wondering if I can change its firmware to Teclast so I can add games and edit/personalize the welcome screen... It has a "mini mp4 player" welcome screen, has blue menus, I cant add .RKP games... Its firmware says its version: 00.00.0008 Date:2007-06-30 and the bundled cd doesn't have a firmware backup.

Store's website:

Pls, anyone...help me.

Thanks

chrizy4u!
You have 50% of options to be as lucky as I was or end with your player with blank screen.
If Teclast C260 software run in your player you will loose the speaker.
According with key and buttons (lights) is fully compatible.
Despite the vendor said it's SD slot it's micro SD slot as TL-C260.
Seems to be fully compatible.

Do a simple test... with switch POWER ON/OFF in OFF, while you keep pressed POWER button plug USB cable... if your device get connected in upgrade mode (RockUSB) then you'll be able to upgrade the software despite of the firmware.

Install then version 01.09.0009-CI of Teclast C260. If it works you'll be as lucky as me.

In the meantime send me an e-mail address where I can send you a firmware that probably will take you out from blank screen. I hope this is not necessary

you have to see if your player is CI or noCI, is very probable that your player is noCI, some players have the CI labeled in the backside, my player doesn't have the CI, but in the firmware it says CI, so i think yours is noCI, but try to check it out

Hi, I have a remarked teclast called rimax gloomy and it has 4gb. It has the look of a c280 but support microsd, so i suppose is a 260 with 280 case.

MP4 RIMAX GLOOMY 4GB en PCCITY
It has the same menu of that cdrking, and say the something in the firmware info (only changes the date: 2006-06-20). And it comes with the tetris game, but I can't add more games.

user123 the keyboard layout looks like in c260. But the power button is on the wrong side.

chrizy4u, you may break your player. In the specyfication there is mentioned that your player support MTV movie format. Teclast c260 support AVI and I dont think its gonna be compatible. If you havent got original firmware from your player you'd rather not take a risk.

And the speaker thing. If player have speaker it doesnt really mean that after firmware upgrade it will lose speaker function. Many of the electronic devices uses mechanical jack socket to support either headphones or speakers. It just cuts off the speaker when you plug in some connector.

I don't know if there's a difference between firmwares that have the "-CI" at the end, but if you just want the Teclast firmware version 01.09.0009 you can look here:
