New C260 beta firmware

New firmware has been released few days ago. It has got a lot of new functions now. Such as playlists sorted by artist or album. Now you can quit the movie and resume it later at same position. The same function has now e-book. When you quit and back later, it will load directly the latest file has been readed at same position (the same is with photo function). Also the new small font came back. ID3 tag support has been introduced. When you press and hold power button, in the place of the file path will show up ID3 Tag information. But only the artist and album (i dont know why not the artist and title).

It has a lot of bugs. For example I couldnt use playlists using the microsd card memory. I could scan all memory and collect the playlist but couldnt play any song becouse the player was trying to load it from flash memory which wasnt there.

Flv format support has been abandoned but the Flac is still supported.

The use of new update tool is highly recomended. This new firmware seems to be unusual, rklogoedit doesnt even recognise it, and the filesize is much bigger than previous firmwares. Seems a lot of new code has been compiled.

this is great news for all rockchip based players i.e. hacha, onda, teclast etc - if they get this righht then meizu is going to have some major competiton on their hands and with the frequesncy in which teclast release their updates we can only see how far they will go

daremos - i know you have the onda vx858 - is onda also going to update and include all these new features aswell

Sure it will... I am very curious... have you noticed that there is a close relationship between Teclast and Onda?

one hint... to make appear Artist and Album it must be used ID3v1 ... I was using also ID3v2 and I did have to remove it... ONLY ID3v1

yes i have noticed - and i wonder if the link is Rockchip themselves. i recently went on the rockchipo web site and read an article about rockchips partnership with microsoft to implement their new "PlatFX" technologies - and i think c290 has this now - not sure??

so may itmis rockchip that are trying to implement suggestion from teclast and onda, as some sort of mass development team with everyone reaping the benefits

if they get it right and get these new things sorted then it a whole new game - but bring backk flv support, did it not work properly or something??

I dont know any other source to download. Try at other time when the bandwith will be free.

The flv support has been abandoned becouse it were very buggy. The videos play jumpy. Looking forward the new firmware.

the new version of the same firmware has been released.
Now C260 supports Microsoft PlayFX sound. Enjoy ;-)

One function not mentioned is zoom over pictures... when you're watching a photo press slightly POWER and photo will be zoomed... then with arrows the picture can be moved, pressing POWER again return to its original size.
