Problems after firmware upgrade

Got my C260 few days ago.

I realized about a new firmware version and tried to upgrade it. After upgrade, it only shows a white screen each time i turn it on. It works as a external drive each time i plug it to my pc but there are no files on it (i recall some files and folders on it before upgrade, not counting mines of course).

Tried several times to upgrade firmware again but no luck so far... ConsumerUpgrade app only shows me: Not found any ROCK USB device

Is there other way to hard reset it or load the firmware again?

I had the same problem then I saw that . (scuse for language I'm french)
you must do exactly the same procedure.
=> 5. Put device on recovery mode (short-circuit) <=

http://www.s1mp3.org/en/docs_deadrec.php

You must open your MP3 and ...
When you connect your mp3 to PC touch 2 or more of any of the 8 IO legs of the memory chip like the Photo.

And the sowtware upgrade can see rock usb device .

Have you tried reverting to the previous working firmware version? The firmware that you loaded into the player might not be compatible with yours.

thats a problem also, CD that came with my player has every single firmware version for all Teclast mp3 players, but no C260 firmware there

For those who actually upgraded firmware, here's a picture of ConsumerUpgrade app... Im trying to find another way for my pc to recognize player... Holding menu after, during and before I connect USB cable doesnt seems to work anymore

Hi,
I had a similar problem as it doesn't load the firmware update drivers automatically. So, basically, you need to switch the C260 into firmware update mode (if you still can) via the menu system. Then if the C260 is connected to your Windows PC, it will ask you to install the "Rockchip firmware update drivers" (or something like that) and you then put the CD that came with the C260 into the CD drive and browse to the Rockchip drivers (I think they may be in a Drivers + Windows 98 directory). Once, selected they install themselves onto your computer and then restart the update software and it should find your C260. The software will then allow you to update the Teclast!

I fixed it!!!

Thanks Jerome but I couldn't even see the loading screen... just a white screen.

Ok, here's what i did:

1- Place the lower switch to right (when you have it at right you cannot turn on your player).
2- Connect the USB cable to C260 player.
3- When player turns itself on, press and hold both ON/OFF button (upper one) and Menu Button (M) for about 5 seconds.
4- Open CustomerUpdate app (crappy app btw) and load the firmware. I used the one that comes in the 'NO CI' folder to fix it. I remember that my player died when upgraded with the one that's located at 'CI' folder.
5- Click on Update, (i thought it was not going to work but it does!), let it finish (i let it there for 5 minutes) and then click on exit.
6- Disconnect player from USB cable, it turns OFF automatically.
7- Place the lower switch to left (when you have it at right you cannot turn on your player).
8- Turn it ON and let it go!!

It says Firmware Updating Successful in the consumer update app. I even let it sit for 10 minutes before unplugging it from the pc/player and still no luck I have the white screen. I tried both Ci firmware and NOCI firmware. Even though my player says CI on the back of it which means to only use the CI Firmware. But I had to try something. Any other suggestions. I was stuck on the usb rock not recognized like you until I read this thread. But even after getting the successfull firmware update it the consumer app it still is dead.
