Did you upgrade to the Teclast firmware with that player? Even with the same CPU the screens, buttons, ect could be different and not work.

No, Iīm so stupid that I used the wrong firmware to upgrade, I used the firmware for the nm3 from neonumerique.

Today I managed to get the Consumer Update Tool to recognize the mp4 unit and tryed to load the "original" firmware that was in the mini cd with all the drivers.

No luck there, still white screen and unit now turns of on its own.

The other option would be to try to put the unit into flash mode blind, that means going through the same steps as you would on a working unit and then attempting a flash. Id try seeing if it will play any of the music on it before going through that. No telling if the touch interface is even working.
Yep that Teclast C260 is on it's way back to Hong Kong!. $16 for First Class mail or $12.75 for Global Priority mail. I sent it the Global Priority much faster then First Class and Cheaper!. Well its for the best, never can be sure if they will go out again if you do reflash them. Thats really interesting about the shipping costs, never would have thought Global Priority would be cheaper.

I have the same problem with my mp4 player. I bought it on ebay and it didn't come with any firmware. I downloaded firmware after I had problem with playing avi files and nothing but a white screen since then. The model number for this one is M306. I can't get firmware updater software to detect it at all. I would appreciate if somebody knows where to get basic firmware?

Did you try doing the following procedure?
. Switch ON/OFF on OFF, to not let the unit start
. Keep POWER button pressed while its plugged in USB plug.
. wait until PC recognize the device (it should be "rockusb" device)
. Use Customer Update Refresh Firmware 2.7.4 to install any firmware for C260
did you?

I have a problem with my c260.When I turn it on, the red leds lights up and turns off, then, nothing happens. usually, the teclast logo appears. Now it is a blank screen. what seems to be the problem? I upgraded to latest version of firmware.

Unfortunately... the firmware you applied spoiled your player.
You must go back to your previous firmware.
With player switched OFF keep POWER button pressed while you plug USB cable until you hear the signal from the PC... in tray icon your player must appear as "rockusb".
Load previous firmware then

good luck!!
