The rockchip itself is a chip based on arm cpu like you say.Even the old rk2608 could handle emulation if they did develop it,but rockchip players lack of any development,maybe the firmware is just too hard to develop(the old saying "power is nothing without control" hehe).
I think rockchip really missed the point this time,and will slowly lose his market now.
The new market will be dominated by the Ingenic chips and i think also by the new wince 6 devices,with iriver launching so many wince devices,meizu with m8 and probably m7(after they gained knowledge of wince,they'll surely don't waste it)and the easyness of developing anything for windows.The other smaller company will only follow seeing the success of the big. |
