I think they're just repeating the Chinese translation, not deliberately trying to mislead people. Most people wouldn't know or care what 'dual core' meant even if it were true, so it wouldn't necessarily be a major selling point anyway. All it's trying to convey is that sound processing is handled seperately by a dedicated chip, which is in fact superior to doing it via the CPU in software. This information is valuable to the consumer and should be conveyed somehow. Just because the terminology is not accurate from a high-level technical-engineering point of view doesn't really make a difference to the general public because they wouldn't understand it anyway.

Basically what i'm saying is there is real information being conveyed here, not in a technically accurate form but at least in a way that an intelligent person could comprehend what is being said and appreciate its implications.

Whenever there is a language barrier, the way to facilitate communication is to look beyond the words to the meaning behind them. If everyone insisted on maintaining rigorous use of terms across different languages communication would drop to terribly inefficient levels.
