Real Onda OEM VX858 DO NOT HAVE a "Mini MP4 Player" start up and "Bye Bye" shut off. Real Onda OEM Players Have the same Onda start up background but there is no Onda Logo. If your player say mini mp4 player good day bye bye you just have a Onda copy.

To be a true or real OEM product it has to come from the real factory that makes that product for the Onda. If it does not it then just a copy.
That's not totally true... I do have a Onda VX858 emulator, not sure of it is OEM or not... and this player doesn't come with that "Mini MP4 Player" start up and "Bye Bye" shut off... unfortunately I don't recall what was the animation which start the screen but I know it wasn't that nor Onda animation.

Maybe I was lucky to make my player work perfectly with Onda VX878 firmware but agree with MrDAP that if you don't have proper backup firmware you better don't try: Now the problem have become more complex: it exists VX858 and VX858LE that look the same and interchange of both firmware really block the player... I experienced that and I recover my player by short-circuit method and spoiling of the case. Happily I've some experience and all works fine.

Concerning you other doubts:

Your ROCKCHIP player for videos have few but strict rules:

video resolution 320x240
video codec: xvid
audio codec: MP2

this is to start with, then come 20 FPS to be sure of sound synchronization.
