The probelm is the Wolfson chip that Teclast utilizes. A lot of members in this forum seem impress with Wolfson. I AM NOT.

I have both C280 and T39 and both use Wolfson as a DAC and both sound horrible and distorted when you adjust the parametric equalizers. You cannot extend the bass because sound then distorts quickly.

No wonder, Apple dropped Wolfson because the Ipod models that had them sounded bad as well.

Now Toshiba made the same mistake in their S series when they used Wolfson WM8978. Read the reviews at anythingbutipod.com and you will find that the S-series is by far the worst sounding of all Toshiba MP3 models.

I recently bought a Toshiba U-202 model and I learned that Toshiba designed the Sigma-Delta 1-bit DAC chip inhouse and implemented that in this model as well as in their T-400 series. Now the U-series is one of the cleanest sounding MP3s I have. I must say it rivals my Sony NWZ-S610. There is an almost perfect tonal balance. Another thing is I tweaked the parametric equalizer and even at the highest bass settings, the sound is never distorted but instead had warm bass.

Forget the hype about Wolfson. Their chips are among the worst sounding out there.

Don't spend your hard earned money on Teclast because the trusted Japanese brands, Toshiba and Sony have come down in prices and are FAR SUPERIOR in Sound Quality.

If you don't trust what I say, test them out at Walmart or Circuit City.
