These are only pre-production, full thing should come with new firmware (to some extent
). Generally, I think that firmware on T29, c260, c280 is lacking, and there is no excuse for that. If manufacturer cannot afford adequate firmware, they should at least release specs and SDK, it would be the smartest thing they can do about it. Audio/video playback, recording and other basic features are ok, but there is lot of things that could be done.
I must mention at least non consistent controls, non-responsiveness during playback, unsupported playlists, awkward implementation of graphical interface (each screen in main menu is picture -> no animations, large firmware), usb/mass storage is poorly implemented.
These players are quite good when it comes to HW, but it is like newest PC with Win98 installed. Why to use newest chips, when software does not use their potential?
Lets hope that T39s final firmware will be better than fw of its predecessors.
